Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-09-10
CaliTimer is provided by LSQUARED LABS LTD. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean LSQUARED LABS LTD. By using CaliTimer, you agree to these terms.
What CaliTimer is
CaliTimer is a tool that uses your phone's camera and on-device pose estimation to detect and time static calisthenics skills. It is not a coach, not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional training advice.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use CaliTimer on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. You don't own the app; you're licensed to use it.
CaliTimer Pro subscription
CaliTimer 1.1.3 and earlier were free to use. From CaliTimer 2.0 onward, an active CaliTimer Pro subscription is required to use the app — including for people who installed an earlier free version. There is no permanent free tier and no grandfathering; updating to 2.0 or later is your choice. This section and every subscription section that follows it — up to and including When a subscription ends — applies to CaliTimer 2.0 and later.
CaliTimer Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store, in one subscription group with two plans:
- Monthly — £4.99 per month.
- Annual — £44.99 per year.
Those are the United Kingdom prices. In other App Store storefronts the price comes from Apple's own pricing matrix and is shown in your local currency, including any applicable taxes. The price and billing period on Apple's purchase sheet at the moment you confirm are the ones that apply. Both plans sit in the same subscription group, so you can switch between them at any time and Apple handles the proration — you can't hold both at once.
A subscription unlocks the app itself — detection, timing, session recording and review, your training log and personal bests — rather than a list of individually priced features. Both plans include everything the app can do; they differ only in billing period and price. CaliTimer Pro is not enabled for Family Sharing, so a subscription covers the Apple Account that bought it.
Skills are released as their detection is finished. CaliTimer detects a specific set of static skills, and that set grows over time. Your subscription gives you the skills released in the version you have installed, plus any released later while you remain subscribed. It is not a purchase of a specific future skill: nothing on our roadmap, and nothing marked "Coming Soon" in the app, is a promise of a feature, an order, or a date.
Free trial
Both plans currently start with a 7-day free trial. The trial is Apple's introductory offer mechanism and Apple decides eligibility — it is normally available once per Apple Account per subscription group, so if you have already used a trial or held a CaliTimer Pro subscription before, you may not be offered another. Apple's purchase sheet states exactly what you will be charged and when, and that sheet is authoritative.
Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription at the price of the plan you chose. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you subscribe to a paid plan before the trial has run out.
Billing, renewal, and cancellation
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price of the plan you are on.
You manage and cancel through Apple, not inside CaliTimer: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling turns off future renewals. It does not shorten or refund the period you have already paid for — you keep access until that period ends, and the app locks afterwards.
Apple's own instructions: how to cancel a subscription from Apple.
Refunds and price changes
Apple bills every App Store purchase and handles every refund, under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. We cannot issue, approve, or refuse a refund, and we never see your payment details. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are in the UK or EU, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything in these terms.
We may change subscription prices. Apple's rules govern what happens to an existing subscriber: Apple notifies you in advance and, depending on the change, either asks you to agree to it or lets you cancel before it takes effect. A price rise never takes effect without the notice Apple requires. The current price is always the one shown in the App Store and on the purchase sheet.
Promotional and offer codes
We sometimes grant free or discounted access using Apple's offer codes — to friends, testers, or creators we work with. A redeemed code is an ordinary App Store subscription: it grants access for the period the code specifies and, unless the offer says otherwise, continues at the standard renewing price afterwards, cancellable like any other subscription. Codes are personal, not transferable, and we are under no obligation to reissue one.
When a subscription ends
If your subscription lapses, is cancelled, or is refunded, CaliTimer locks and offers to resubscribe or restore an existing purchase. Your training data is not deleted. Sessions, holds, personal bests, and settings live on your device and are still there if you subscribe again.
CaliTimer works entirely offline, so it can only confirm your subscription status with the App Store when it can reach it. Access may therefore continue for a short period after a subscription has ended, until the app can confirm the change. A refund processed by Apple removes access as soon as the app learns of it.
Deleting the app is a different matter and does destroy your training data, because that data exists only on your device and nowhere else. See our Privacy Policy.
Use at your own risk
Handstand and other static calisthenics training involves a real risk of injury, including but not limited to falls, wrist strain, and head injury. You are responsible for:
- Choosing a safe environment to train in.
- Warming up appropriately.
- Knowing your physical limits.
- Bailing out safely.
CaliTimer measures what it sees through the camera. It does not assess whether what you're doing is safe. We are not liable for injuries sustained while using the app or while training generally.
Pose detection accuracy
CaliTimer uses Apple's Vision framework
(VNDetectHumanBodyPoseRequest) to estimate your body
position from the live camera feed. Timing depends on
environmental conditions — lighting, framing, occlusion, clothing,
and camera angle all affect detection reliability — and on the
inherent limits of on-device 2D pose estimation. No
guarantee of 100% detection accuracy is made. Detection
failures are not a defect of the app; they are a known property of
the underlying technology.
For technical detail, see Apple's guide on detecting human body poses in images.
Acceptable use
Don't use CaliTimer to record other people without their knowledge and consent. Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise tamper with the app. Don't use the app to break any law.
By using CaliTimer you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by it as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
No warranty
CaliTimer is provided "as is." We don't promise that detection will be accurate in every situation, that the app will work on every device configuration, or that it will be available without interruption.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to injury, lost data, or lost time.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you actually paid us for CaliTimer Pro in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apple's role
These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for CaliTimer or its content, and has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it — support is ours, at support@calitimer.app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price if applicable; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim you or a third party makes about the app, including product liability, regulatory, and intellectual property claims. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes — including anything about subscriptions or billing — will be noted in the app's release notes, and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use CaliTimer after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, cancel your subscription and stop using the app. Subscription price changes follow Apple's process described above, not this section.
